Bitter/Sweet: A Coffee Journey
So many of us feel like we couldn’t make it through the day without coffee. We love it on a physical and emotional level. It is comfort, nostalgia, and joy encapsulated in a cup. But most of us are unaware of how much incredible work has to happen to get coffee from crop to café.
In Bitter/Sweet, host Sara Gibson combines her love of coffee, relentless curiosity, and endless supply of joy and humor to show how learning more about coffee can only deepen our appreciation of it, as well us develop our sense of responsibility towards the lands where it comes from and the people who produce it.
Sara will travel the world and explore how each unique region contributes to this global ecosystem. This adventure will take us from the traditional estates in Colombia to the fair trade fields in Burundi, and from grinding with roasters in Austin to checking out the coffee revolution in Shanghai. A master roaster herself, Sara shows us the vital and valuable connection between our neighborhood café and the people who produce coffee at origin.
